Autodesk Maya is the best 3D program on the market. VFX companies, game developers, and streaming giants utilize it to create everything from animated shorts to photorealistic blockbusters. Choose from three years of service to lock in the newest version of Maya. For thirty-six months, you’ll get all updates, hotfixes, and cloud services without having to pay more each year.
A named-user license works on any Windows PC or macOS workstation that is supported (M-series chips will run directly starting from 2024 onwards) and comes with the Arnold renderer built-in for both CPU and GPU path tracing. It’s easy for your assets to move between animation, game engine, and post-production processes with Bifrost visual effects graphs, Universal Scene Description (USD) workflows, and deep Unreal Live Link integration.
With Smart Extrude modeling, cached playback, and an ever-growing set of LookdevX coloring tools, Maya enables you to make changes faster while still delivering the film-quality finish clients desire.
Key Features:
- Smart Extrude & Motion-Trail Editor (2025): You can move and push faces together without breaking the topology and then use the brand-new Motion-Trail workspace to finetune timing. This workspace consolidates all settings into a single panel.
- LookdevX USD Shading (2024): Use the LookdevX graph editor to make changes to USD-based or MaterialX materials and then see the changes right away in Arnold or game engines, all while running Maya directly on Apple SSD Macs.
- Blue Pencil Sketch Tools (2023): You can draw notes, curves, and thumbnails right in the viewport. You can also use ghost frames on the time slider and retime drawings, just like you would with keys, to make the review process smoother.
- Bifrost Visual Programming: Use a node graph to create fire, snow, cloth, and scattering setups that resemble their real-life counterparts, or start with pre-made explosion and dust storm models.
- USD Everywhere: Quickly load, change, and preview giant sets of USD data; export them back out with all of their original colors, layers, and variants.
- Arnold 5.x Integrated Renderer: There is a renderer that comes with every copy of Maya called Arnold 5.x Integrated Renderer. You can switch between CPU and GPU path-tracing and see real-time changes to the lighting.

FAQs
Does the subscription include Arnold?
Yes. Arnold is already there, and you don’t have to pay extra to use it with either a CPU or an NVIDIA GPU.
Can I install Maya on multiple computers?
You can install as many times as you want, but each named-user seat can only have one person signed in and running Maya at a time.
Is constant internet required?
Not at all. You can leave Maya offline for up to 30 days. After that, sign in to quickly renew the license key.
Can I move between versions during my term?
Yes. You can install any new build with your Autodesk ID, provided your subscription is still valid. This means you can switch between 2023, 2024, and 2025 as needed by your pipeline.
What happens when the three-year term ends?
Maya goes into “read-only” mode until it is refreshed. If your license expires in 30 days, Elements Keys will notify you and can extend it at the best available Autodesk rate.
